The obligation of electronics technicians is to work under the development of a range of different types of products. Typically they work under the supervision of engineers. Also they work under those who have extensive experience usually work in the area of research and development. They must have good knowledge of electronics circuitry, test procedures, mathematics and physics. They can use them to create sketches and layouts. After that they build prototypes of the designs. They often change the designs of circuits based on the initial prototypes. Also they analyze the reasons for various failures. They use an extensive range of equipment. It includes voltmeters, ohmmeters, signal generators, ammeters and oscilloscopes. Moreover they run many tests on equipment and products. This includes environmental, operational and functional nature.
Mostly some electronics technicians work in the manufacturing sector. They must oversee production quality control and designing tests to ensure quality. Some technicians work as customer engineers or field service representatives. They should install equipment at work sites and interact much more with customers. As usual, they work with the employees of the client. They are training them in the proper use and maintenance of equipment. Also they are trained to operate computers, calculators, experimental and laboratory equipment.
Skills
In case to be professional electronics technicians there must be detail-oriented. Very important is to show great initiative. They also must be able to work without close supervision. To follow verbal directions well is also important. It is the same as to work from schematic diagrams and sketches. Also they need to have good oral and written communication skills.
