The duties of a multimedia artist are to create special effects and animated images for movies, television programs and computer games. They produce painted by hand special effects and animated images or designed with a computer large series of pictures that create animated images. Many multimedia artists are engaged in such spheres as the motion picture, video, advertising and computer systems design industries. Among their duties, there is the creation of storyboards for commercials that are known as presentations in a series of scenes that have the same look as a comic strip. Such storyboards are used to make the decision of advertising agencies according the production of commercials. They paint storyboards for movies and animated programs, define the location of actors and cameras in the television and motion picture industries, consider pre-production details for commercials.

There are many possibilities to become a multimedia artist. It is possible to study at colleges or universities for becoming a Bachelor in Fine Arts (BFA) or Master in Fine Arts (MFA).
