Employment Prospects for Graduates
The USA has the largest economy in the world. A good graduate qualification from a respected US university should be very helpful for students looking to enter the US job market. Most US universities have careers services, which are alike to those at international universities. There are also many graduate programs, where larger companies employ students directly from their programs.

According to the US National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), the job viewpoint for graduate employment remains good, especially for students with degrees in business, engineering, and computer-related fields. Starting salaries for candidates with graduate or postgraduate qualifications are growing progressively.

Students with an F visa are not allowed to work off campus, though they can agree to on-campus employment such as teaching assistantships. A US graduate qualification does not automatically allow the holder to work in the US. After graduation, F visa holders must apply to the US Citizenship and Immigration Services to improve their visa to let them to work. A student must have an offer of employment from a US employer and it helps if the position is in the area of expertise that he or she studied in.

It may be interesting for students that Americans usually work longer hours, and get less paid holidays than EU workers, and that worker defense legislation is weaker but there are specific opportunities for those equipped with a postgraduate qualification from an American higher education institution.
